What does the world of Minecraft actually look like?

It's all up to you - and that's what's so special about this wonderfully creative game. Every inch of this realm of blocks can be destroyed and rebuilt as you please. To do this, they use materials and tools that you collect and create yourself. You can build yourself a modest farm, a magnificent palace or a unique playground for you and your friends. The tools you need are practically at your feet.

As a creator, you have all kinds of materials at your disposal. Cut down trees to craft wooden items. Mine stones to build stone structures, or grow crops and breed animals to trade with villagers for other useful items. You can orient rivers and lakes in your world the way you want to take advantage of them. You can also build as high as you want or dig as deep into the ground as you like.

The world around you has a random shape and stretches for miles in every direction, so you can pick the perfect spot for your endeavor. Whether you feel more at home in snowy high altitudes, in a dense forest, or in a sun-drenched desert, you can orient the land the way you want and put down roots.
